The Voyageur Hudson Bay Axe
A classic American axe inspired by generations of wilderness adventure.
The Voyageur Hudson Bay Axe from Brant & Cochran draws its inspiration from a treasured family tradition. During canoe trips through Minnesota's Boundary Waters Canoe Area in the 1970s, the makers' father carried a trusty Norlund Hudson Bay Axe. Those memories helped inspire the creation of the Voyageur.
Based on the historic Hudson Bay axe style produced by Bangor's Snow & Nealley before World War II, the Voyageur brings a classic American design to today's campsites, cabins, and outdoor adventures.
Its 2 lb. head is crafted from U.S. 1045 carbon steel and mounted on a 22–23-inch Amish-turned hickory handle, secured with a black walnut wedge.
Compact enough for camp use yet substantial enough for practical wood preparation, the Voyageur is a distinctive addition to an outdoor enthusiast's collection.
